NL2024-41 Mazda MX-5 MK4 ND Rear Knuckle & Arm Bushes

The Mazda MX-5 has never prioritised just straight-line speed; instead, it focuses more on handling and driving enjoyment. The 4th Generation ND model exemplifies this philosophy, offering a platform loved by enthusiasts both on the road and the track.

Part of this dynamism comes from the 10-arm multi-link rear suspension, which consists of rubber and spherical bushes for precise control over the rear track. Great while it’s performing as intended, but wear on the bushes – particularly the spherical bushes that tend to crack and fail – can negatively impact handling. This leads to increased rear-end uncertainty and may present issues when it’s time for the MOT

With replacement bushes for the rear knuckles not available from Mazda separately and a new original knuckle assembly costing upwards of £450 plus fitting labour per side, it has created a demand for an aftermarket bush solution.

Market research and feedback from our customers, suggested that a higher quality and better-performing product was required, so after months of research, development and testing, we are pleased to introduce a complete set of replacement bushes for the MX-5 ND Rear Suspension Knuckles (RR Kn):

PFR36-611 RR Kn. to Trailing Arm Bush
PFR36-612 RR Kn. Lower Strut Mount Bush
PFR36-613 RR Kn. to Upper/Lower Link Bush
PFR36-614 RR Kn. to Rear Upper Link Bush
PFR36-615 RR Kn. to Upper Lateral Arm Bush

Made from our stiffest Black 95A durometer Polyurethane, and supplied with stainless-steel sleeves and zinc-plated steel outer shells where applicable for precise fitment, these replacement bushes are designed to resist deflection but to allow articulation, restoring handling and driver confidence.

The feedback provided by well-known racing team and MX-5 Championship winners BC CARS MOTORSPORT LTD who kindly carried out some on-track testing of these parts for us, made all the hard work worthwhile.

“Your kit was awesome. I loved the metal outer sleeves that push into the rear knuckles before the bushes go in…the kit was a dream to fit. It hasn’t failed and doesn’t make the car too rigid on track. The rear knuckle kit is a game changer for every road/race car MX-5 out there”.

During the same development period, we took the opportunity to work on a range of replacement rear link arm bushes for the Mazda MX-5 ND.

PFR36-616 Rear Upper Front Lat. Arm Bush
PFR36-617 Rear Trailing Arm to Chassis Bush
PFR36-618 Rear Lateral Rear Arm Bush
PFR36-619 Rear Link Arm Inner Bush
PFR36-620 Rear Toe Link Rod Inner Bush

Due to the shared manufacturer platform, these parts also fit the Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider and are released in addition to our previously released range of suspension bushes for these models.
